Joe Namath's guaranteed Super Bowl III victory, against a Baltimore Colts team favored by 18 points, remains one of the most famous moments in NFL history.

The artwork on the nine Heroes insert cards (#10-18) was painted by sports artist Vernon Wells Jr., confirmed for the 1991 football sets.

Every 100th card was signed 'Broadway Joe': cards with serial numbers 100, 200, 300 through 2,500 carry this inscription. This is the same interval pattern as the Reggie Jackson set.
